‘Encounter at Black Ridge’

An award-winning alien invasion black comedy.

Encounter at Black RidgeA strange mix of characters are gathered in a bar for a special meeting. One member of the group, Johnny, is late. While the others fret and bicker, Johnny is having to deal with problems of his own that are out of this world - literally. Strange noises and a flash of light in the sky (which have nothing to do with the weather) turn out to be the least of his worries. After escaping death by the skin of his teeth, Johnny finally makes it to the bar, unwittingly bringing an unwelcome guest with him.

Starring Tim McGarry from the Ulster television comedy series Give My Head Peace. Inspired by the Twilight Zone episode “Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?”

Reviews

“A darkly comic pastiche of 1950’s B-movies and Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone. It is the team’s most accomplished work to date.”
Film West magazine

“You can recognise a genuine step up in production value, and it is the most light-hearted introduction to their unique blend of Irish charm and contemporary horror/sci-fi … Well worth viewing.”
The Rumour Machine

“From the opening shot to the closing credits the audience were engrossed, with the silence only punctuated by laughter as the sharply-written script hit the mark on every occasion. At the end, sustained applause signalled a successful first screening.”
