My novel Chion has acquired yet another great review, this time at book review site Critical Mick.
In a welcome relief from the vast majority of sci-fi, Darryl Sloan has built his novel on a truly original notion … It’s gripping stuff, never dipping into the typical end-of-the-world clichés … Ranking right up there with Lucifer’s Hammer [by Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle].

Great review, my man.
The praise is well deserved, Darryl! I look forward to reading your future works and to viewing Shadow of the Dead.
On the subject of zombies, here’s a nutty tale of Linux, Texas, the walking dead and…. badgers?: http://www.spacesuitsandsixguns.com/zombie-2.html. Enjoy!
I got a kick out of it, anyway!

Thanks, Mick. Speaking of Shadow of the Dead, I actually sat down at the weekend and fleshed out a full synopsis for the story. Came to about 1,500 words, which surprised me.
Despite what I said in the interview regarding some stories being better suited to film, I can’t help toying with the idea of novelising this one – at least, novelising it before filming it. We’ll see.
